Volunteer Days: hands-on conservation
Always been interested in nature and would like to have a go at practical habitat management activities? Would like a taste of what practical conservation work is like? Love the outdoors and would like to meet new people, learn new skills and improve your health and well-being in the outdoors? This is the day for you! We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life to join us! These volunteer days will be led by Field Studies Council Staff. Tools and training will be provided on the day. We will be working in the estate, used by Field Studies Council for teaching and managed for Nature Recovery. Whether it is your first time or you are more experienced, join us and make an impact Tasks may involve but not limited to - Clearing vegetation and dense growth with hand tools, helping to re-establish plant and animal life and open up grassland - Coppicing young trees to allow more light to the floor - Planting of trees, native vegetation - Using what we have cut to create habitat piles for small animals and reptiles. - Creating and installing Bird, Bat boxes - Repairs to fences, rails etc.

Booking Information:
- For Adults 18+ Bring appropriate clothing and footwear for being outside and getting dirty
- Bring Snacks, water and lunch Activities are subject to change, depending on the weather
