Nocturnal Animals Night Walk at Juniper Hall– discovering creatures of the night
Join us for a magical evening exploring the secret world of nocturnal wildlife! This two hour experience begins in our classroom, where you’ll discover what happens in the woods after dark by watching real footage from our camera traps. See which elusive animals have been visiting when no one is looking! We’ll then head outside to check our humane small mammal traps, giving you the chance to get a closer look at some of the tiny woodland residents that call Juniper Hall home. As night falls, we’ll set off on a guided walk through the grounds and into the surrounding woodland, listening out for owls and using bat detectors to pick up their incredible echolocation calls. Along the way, you’ll learn more about the native bat and owl species that thrive in our local habitats. Come and discover the wildlife that wakes up just as we’re heading to bed! Please note: the walk will take place in low light on uneven ground, bringing a torch and wearing sturdy footwear and suitable outdoor clothing is recommended. In the event of clouded skies and wet weather , this event will still take place, however the content may be adjusted to still provide a great experience.
